Urethra is a tube that connects the urinary bladder to the urinary meatus for the removal of urine from the body of both males and females.During sex ,bacteria can get into your urethra and this can raise your chances of an infection .When you urinate you naturally flash those germs and bacteria out.So after having some cuddle time with your babes,head to the washroom.If you are a man ,make sure you pay your water bills( pee).If you are a woman ,when you wipe,do it from your front to back to stop the spread of the bacteria.
Never Perform Vagina Douching
Most women usually feel the urge to clean their vagina after sex in other to eliminate odors.Some even use douching products.The truth is that your vagina is designed to naturally maintain a healthy pH balance.Its filled with bacteria or vaginal flora that helps stop infections and prevent irritations.
Anytime you remove or reduce the number of healthy bacteria in your vagina,problematic bacteria may flourish.That can lead to infections,irritations and more serious complications like cervicitis,pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) and pregnancy problems.The best way to take care of your vagina after sex is to have a simple shower or bath.Soap is not necessary,but if you are going to use one ,make sure its mild and not heavily scented.
You don\’t necessarily have to hop out of bed and head straight to the washroom after sex,but it is imperative to note that cleaning yourself after sex can protect men and women from infections ,like of the urinary tract (UTI). Wash areas around the genitals with warm water.Avoid getting soap inside your vagina if you are a lady.Men with foreskin should gently pull it back and wash underneath.
Drink a Glass of Water
We all can attest to the fact that most guys are fond of sleeping right after a roll in the hay.This is not the best guys.Dont forget to drink water after sexual intercourse.When you stay hydrated,you will urinate more,which means that more bacteria will wash out of your body before infections can flare up.
Drink some cranberry juice
Studies have proved that drinking cranberry juice after sex can reduce chances of UTI.
According to research, cranberry juice helps to fight against bacteria.It does not get broken down by your digestive system, so it is able to reach your urinary tract and prevent any bacteria from remaining on the wall of your bladder.In addition, a recent global study shows that drinking a glass of 240 ml cranberry juice a day will reduce symptomatic UTIs by nearly 40 percent in women with recurrent UTIs.
Go for Test Once in a while
This is good for you if you are sexually active.Getting tested for STD(s) is very paramount, in that,some of the infections doesn\’t have symptoms ,so testing is the only way to know for sure if you have one or not .Nevertheless,watch out for symptoms like blisters,discharge,pain,sores,spots or lumps around your genitals
